There are several social sciences that help people learn about the world we share:

Economics is the study of resources (natural, human and capital) that people use to make their living.

Sociology is the study of groups that humans form, for example, families and cultures.

Geography is the study of the interaction between humans and the earth’s land forms and resources.

Political Science studies the kinds of governments people set up within man-made borders.

This Kenbrena activity will introduce you to a number of the Social Science Concepts and skills that you will apply throughout your learning.

Cool Topics to Discuss:
  • If you had the chance to study one of the social sciences in college, which one would interest you a great deal?

  • You can understand how rich a country is if you examine whether they have the 3 kinds of economic resources:  human, capital and natural.  Can you give examples of each?   Look up those terms in our Kenbrena Glossary for help.
